Forspoken has been pushed into January, while the big Bethesda releases Starfield and Redfall are now set for 2023 too. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was supposed to arrive next month, but has been delayed indefinitely. However, the backlog of other games means this news isn’t exactly a surprise. I want to be excited for the game but J.K makes it hard. It's not going to be on Elden Ring, Scarlett/Violet or COD level but the potential for a multi million seller or even 10 million+ is there if it's not squandered by bigotry, greed, poor marketing etc.
If it reviews well and J.K rowling doesn't stir up too much controversy I could see it being pretty big. Ideally by ignoring J.K Rowling's Bigotry and Twitter nonsense, and IF the dev team/writers have the tact to do so tastefully/respectfully having a positively represented trans character.īut yes the game seems to have a large budget and solid production quality quality. I just want an ambitious game that makes the magic and world fun instead of the cheap cash-ins many Harry Potter games of the past were. Frankly I don't care about the story or more J.K Rowling involvement.
